Standlee Premium Western Forage® provides a wide variety of forage varieties in a wide range of product formats including pellets, cubes, chopped and bales. Standlee Hay Company, Inc. owns/leases over 18,000 acres and harvests an additional 13,000 acres of carefully managed alfalfa, timothy grass, orchard grass, and alfalfa/orchard mixes. We proudly carry a wide variety of Standlee products, delivered to us on a regular basis, resulting in fresh forage products you can count on. Examples include:
- Premium Alfalfa Pellets - High density, ¼ inch pellets. Alfalfa forage is low in sugar, moderately high in protein, high in calories and digestible fiber. Recommended for growing and underweight horses, horses with sensitivity to carbohydrates, horses with gastric ulcers and late pregnancy and lactating mares. Great for milking goats, cows, and other small livestock animals.
- Premium Alfalfa Cubes - Formed by coarsely grinding Standlee Premium Western Forage® and forcing it through a large die with heat and steam. Alfalfa forage is low in sugar, moderately high in protein, high in calories and digestible fiber. Recommended for growing and underweight horses, horses with sensitivity to carbohydrates, horses with gastric ulcers, and late pregnancy and lactating mares.
- Premium Beet Pulp Pellets - High density 1/4 inch pellets formed from dried sugar beet pulp. Beet Pulp is the pulp that remains after sugar has been removed from the sugar beet. A high calorie, low protein, low sugar fiber source for horses. Recommended for horses that are underweight, performance horses, senior horses, horses that are sensitive to carbohydrates, and pregnant and lactating mares. Great for any other livestock animals that are underweight or need a diet with more fiber.
- Certified Timothy & Alfalfa Compressed Bales - Compressed bales are formed by allowing Standlee Premium Western Forage® to grow to the proper stage of maturity, cutting the plants, allowing them to sun-cure (dry) to an acceptable moisture level and baling the forage at the optimal time. These larger bales are then put through a press, sliced horizontally, pushed onto a scale, compressed, and then banded. These products are Certified Noxious Weed Free to accommodate animals being fed in National and State lands as per required.
