Choosing the Right Types of Hay for Your Horses and Livestock
Choosing the correct roughage product for a livestock feeding program is important. Different types of hay provide different levels of nutrition and calories. Alfalfa hay, for example, is a legume and is higher in protein than grass types of hay. It is often used in the feeding of dairy and beef cattle, horses, sheep, swine, and chickens. Timothy hay, Orchard Grass and various Mixed hays are frequently fed to working and pleasure horses and are used throughout the race horse industry.

We buy hay directly from farmers. You may pick up at our store, located at 11804 Springhetti Road, Snohomish, Washington. We also make deliveries to the Puget Sound region including Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Woodinville, and Snohomish, and to the islands including San Juan, Whidbey, Vashon and Camano Islands in Western Washington. We also deliver to Eastern Washington, Alaska, and selected out-of-state areas on an as needed basis.
